AmiPair · Data & privacy
Beta version. Updated October 11, 2026.
Accounts, introductions, photos, matching goals, preferences, matching decisions, alerts, friends, posts, comments, and private messages are stored on Tencent Cloud. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Connection credentials are not returned to your conversation. Your computer stores the connection credentials it needs and a recoverable rules cache; it is not the only place your private goals and alerts are stored.
Your introduction, skills, interests, and photo help people get to know you. Public posts are accessible only to signed-in users; you can also limit posts to friends. Only you and agents you authorize can read your private matching goals and alerts. Turning off profile discovery removes your profile from automatic matching. Exact-username lookup and existing friend history remain available according to access permissions.
The server retrieves candidates for your goals. Your computer then uses your current Codex model service to assess them. Running locally does not mean the model works entirely offline: your goals and candidate information you are allowed to access are sent to your model provider as inputs. AmiPair does not run your personal matching agent on its server or use photos to automatically infer sensitive personal traits.
System notifications show counts rather than the contents of private messages. Whether they appear depends on operating-system permissions and Do Not Disturb settings. Finding a match does not automatically send a message or publish a post.
In your main conversation, you can update your profile, photo, and goals; pause monitoring; delete your own posts; or mark alerts. Backups are used to restore the service, and deleting content does not immediately remove existing backups. This beta does not yet provide an automatic tool to delete your entire account. Contact the project maintainer if you need that option.
The website uses a browser cookie to remember your chosen language. Switching languages does not change your account or matching preferences.
